The book had its first edition in 1979 and its second edition in 1980, being translated for the first time into Portuguese by Sávio Leite and Lourenço Veloso between 2016 and 2017. It narrates the Bolivian cinematographic experience and the films made by the Ukamau Group, with Jorge Sanjinés as major exponent, foundation of the bases for a social, collective and popular cinema. Sanjinés was born in La Paz in 1936 where he lives and works. He made 12 feature films.
