DARK CITY

The gloomy atmosphere sets the tone for Goiânia, even when the sun is cracking and the thermometer shows its 30-odd degrees. In this planned city, things don't always go the way we'd like. And, if the metropolis even has its charm and charm, there is also a flood of squalor that cannot be swept under concrete. No one can say they love or hate a city without looking it deep in the eye. To come across the best and worst in her; it is to experience it and face it daily, in different ways. And, for this reason, journalist Adérito Schneider decided to group together several authors from Goiás for a literary work that would bring together unpublished stories of the noir police subgenre set in the city of Goiânia. The final result of this project is the book Cidade Sombria, which brings together 28 short stories by 28 authors, in a luxurious hardcover edition with 382 pages (in soft pollen paper) sewn by hand, hardcover and page marker tape. The legendary Julio Shimamoto – absolute master of Brazilian comics and graphic arts – was the author not only of the cover, but of more than 30 illustrations spread throughout the volume.
