CITY OF BLOOD

 The reporter in the police section of a major newspaper for years can no longer stand the daily contact with violence. Embittered, he is going through a serious crisis in his marriage. Then comes the new photographer from the notebook, and the two end up initiating a torrid and morbid passion, ignited precisely by the scenes of crime and violence that surround them. By an irony of fate, the reporter becomes the main suspect in one of the crimes he covered for the newspaper, sinking into a spiral of decay.
 CITY OF SANGUE is a graphic novel written by Márcio Jr. (based on a screenplay by Márcia Deretti) and designed by veteran Julio Shimamoto. With a dramatic police plot set in Goiânia, in the arid Midwest of Brazil, it is probably the longest comic in the entire career of the unmistakable Shima – for decades reputed as a Master by different generations of readers and comic artists in the country.
